According to analyst Jeff Pu, all four iPhone 17 models set to launch later this year will come equipped with an upgraded 24-megapixel front-facing camera.
In a research note released today with investment firm GF Securities, analyst Jeff Pu shared a chart reaffirming that the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will each feature a 24-megapixel front-facing camera. In contrast, all four iPhone 16 models are equipped with a 12-megapixel front camera.
Another analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, previously reported that at least one iPhone 17 model would include a 24-megapixel front camera, further supporting this rumored upgrade. Kuo noted that the enhancement would "significantly improve image quality."
With the increased 24-megapixel resolution, photos will retain more detail even when cropped, offering greater flexibility in post-processing.
Pu also reiterated other iPhone 17 rumors, including an increase to 12GB of RAM and a 48-megapixel Telephoto camera for the Pro and Pro Max models. He further expects the A19 and A19 Pro chips to be built on TSMC's advanced third-generation 3nm process, known as N3P.
All four iPhone 17 models are anticipated to launch in September.
